Hello sunshine!

Maybe it's the wrong season for this card? Here in Sweden the days are getting shorter and shorter. But I couldn't resist making this card because at A Blog Named Hero (Die Cutting) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (No Designer Paper) there are fun challenges going on!
I wanted to use the die cut clouds I bought in Denmark this summer and also a background with clouds from Hero Arts.
I started by adding three different blue/turqoise shades of distress ink directly on the stamp and misted the stamp with water before each impression. I managed to get three impressions without inking the stamp up again. I sprayed the pieces of watercolor paper with some more water before I dried them with my heat gun. I really like how the background turned out!
To make the sun I taped some washi tape on a scrap piece of paper and die-cutted a circle, I cut the rays with a pair of scissors. Since the clouds had holes in them I tried to hide them behind some rhinestones.

Washi tape sun!

I had to make my own sun here in Sweden!

Happy Birthday Ria!

Happy birthday, Ria!
(from me and your daughter!)

This is a birthday card I made for an artsy friend of mine. I wanted the card to be more artsy than cute, I don't know if I succeeded? Maybe I have to put that pink ink away? ;-)

Ria sent me a rubber stamp for my birthday and I just had to use it straight away. It's a stamp with her daughter! Have a look here! I love it! It's so cool to have a stamp with her daughter! I also got one for my birthday last year! Awesome!

I made a resist with Ria's daughter, blended in the distress colors and dripped some water on a scrap piece of paper. Added some more stamps in pumice stone, some grey nail polish and finally the text stamp from Tim Holtz. I finally distressed the edges with pumice stone and added a black line around my image to frame it in.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

With this card I'm entering Virginia's Wiew Challenge #18 (the theme is geometric/patterns) and A Blog Named Hero's challenge (the theme is happy).
I've used triangels to form Christmas trees. I used black StazOn on the outlined stamp and clear EP on the solid stamp to emphase the triangular shape. I blended in the distress colors and made some splashes with water. I really like this card, it was a fairly quick Christmas card to make!

Everything with this card makes me happy! I'm happy to make use of stamps in ways they might not have been ment to, I'm happy about this resist technique which I love, I'm happy about the distress colors (love, love, love!), I'm happy for the Christmas season coming up soon and I'm happy because I've made four Christmas Cards already! ;-)

Happy Birthday Anna!

Fabulous!

September really is the birthday month! I think I know someone who is born on every day in september!
This card is made for a newfound scrapping friend and I'm joining the challenges at Scrappa Loss (the challenge is to make something feminine and to use lace) and at Crafty Ribbons Challenge (the theme is birthday and of course: ribbons) with it.
The card is made in the same way as I described in Take It Make It challenge: September  but to make the card extre feminine I added some more gold foil at the bottom and some lace ribbon to cover the gap.

Take It Make It Challenge: September

Fabulous 44!

I saw a gorgeous card made by Crafty Clarey and decided to have a go at the same technique. I went through all my stamps but couldn't find a single tree stamp. I do have a lot of stamps but obviosly no stamps with  trees! (maybe I should get a few??? ;-) ) After a while I found this floral stamp and thought that it might work.

First of all I stamped the text stamp with antique linen on a white piece of paper. I overstamped the text with the floral stamp and heat embossed it with clear EP. Then I started to blend in all the distress colors. I really, really like this technique! It's amazing to see the resist appear behind all the bright colors! Finally I die-cutted the sentiment.

I'm sending this card to a friend of mine who is 4 days older than me. We went to school together and we have sent eachother birthday cards ever since then! We have known eachother since 39 years! (OMG!)
I'm also entering the TIMI challenge at Craft Stamper with this card. This month the theme is 'Take A Stamp' Stamp and Anything Goes.

Gummiapan - challenge #4

What's up?

This card is made for challenge #4 over at Gummiapan. The challenge was to make something for a boy/man. I started on this background a while ago and just didn't know what to do with it. I bought some die cut clouds when I was in Denmark this summer and came to think about them.

Life Book week 32

You are Wise with Tamara La Porte (main lesson)

I've said it before, I'll say it again: this lesson was exactly what I needed right now! Tam taught us to turn limiting beliefs into liberating beliefs and this is what I've struggled with basically all my life! I just come to realise that I deserve to make art and be happy! That should've been easy like that but it hasn't for me.  I feel full with energy and it was such a fun lesson!

I deserve to make art and be happy!

Happy art day!

Life Book - Week 35

Create New Possibilities with Andrea Gomoll (bonus lesson)

This bonus lesson was about simplyfing to to get out of a creative rut and to avoid or overcome a creative block. With all the possibilities with all the supplies you have and all the input on social media it's easy to get overwhelmed. Andrea challenged us to work with limited supplies. When she creates like this she starts with a word or a picture and hasn't got the finished picture in mind.  It just builds up as she goes. I decided to work with some cheap but oh-so-cute stamps I got from Tiger and watercolor markers. I also made some smaller pieces instead of one large page.

Life Book week 36

Finding Strenght with Donna Downey (main lesson)

I finally found some strenght and did another Life Book lesson! I have been waiting for this lesson with Donna. I took a class with her in Stockholm last year and it was awsome! I'm so glad I already had some of the materials she used. We got a bottle of the india ink she used and since she spoke so well of Golden, I have bought a few. Just a few, since they are very expensive in Sweden! I still had to be very creative and use other materials.
