So, here is my final 'with love' card for a while! I'm entering the following challenges with it:

In the June challenge of En Liten Butik you are supposed to be inspired by a quote by H C Andersen. I couldn't agree more with the quote. ("Att bara leva är inte tillräckligt, sade fjärilen, man måste ha solsken, frihet och lite blommor.")

My card is very simple. I have had these really pretty wood buttons shaped as butterflies for a while, just waiting for a project like this. When I tried the inlaid cutting technique a few weeks ago I ended up with this panel that I liked and didn't want to throw away. The ribbon is also from another project, I think it was white from the beginning. The die cut and white embossed sentiment is a left over from other projects in June. So in all, I already had all of these stuff just lying around so the card was quick to make, for a change! And that was really nice!

Paper Smooches June Challenge

What a wonderful world

Paper Smooches is having a challenge now in June and the theme is: Layers. That sounded like a lot of fun so I decided to play along.

When I was coloring the flowers for my previous projects in June I ended up with a lot of colored images that I wasn't pleased with. I really hate to throw stuff away so I sat looking at the pieces and turning them round wondering if I could use them in my art journal. All of a sudden I saw that the back of a image was really pretty. I started playing a bit with it and added a few layers and ended up with a really nice card after all!
The layers of the card are the actual card with some adhesive paper lace on the edges, two die cut panels, one chipboard frame painted with crackle accents and then filled with glossy accents and some micro beads, a chipboard butterfly painted with crackle accents and some Diamond Dust, adhesive letters and a die cut sentiment.

More 'With love'!

When I was making cards yesterday I did a whole lot of painting before achieved the result that I wanted. Not all of them were bad, but they didn't have that soft look that I wanted. One of them was painted with Copics and the colors were a little stronger. When I tried that one on a bright green panel I got a whole different look that I also was happy with. I added some distress color around the flower to make it pop and then I added some Wink of Stella on the flower.
I'm entering this card to the June challenge of Scrap Africa (mood board). I just can't get enough of those pretty colors! I love those shades of green, turqoise and pink.
I'm also entering the June challenge of Seven Hills Crafts (sketch). I'm really not good with sketches, I have to follow them almost completely. I have just made the panel bigger on my card.

When I saw the photo inspiration in the June challenge at Waffle flower I just knew that I had to play along. I love that summery palette of colors. I even found Copics in the exactly right colors (later I changed to distress colors because I didn't get the look that I wanted).

Berry71bleu also have a mood board in their June challenge with lovely soft, summery colors. The photos in both challenges are exactly the style that I want in my home. The photos makes me happy and full of life, and sooo creative!

I'm also very much into flowers at the moment. It might be the season! We are having a lovely weather here in Sweden and everything is so beautiful right now. Sometimes I just go outside, sit down on the porch and just look at the garden and the greenery and just sigh with happiness! I love this season!
I have a stamp set with flowers which I just got and like very much, but I don't know the brand of it. I think it's of a cheaper brand, but it's very pretty anyway. I decided to use that one and I went for a soft look and a quite CAS card. As I mentioned, I started out with my Copics but I didn't get the look that I wanted, so after a lot of trial and error I moved on to my distress colors. I white embossed the image on watercolor paper and then I painted the flower with Distress Markers. I also gave the background a wash to make the flower pop out a bit. I painted with Wink of Stella around the flower and added some sequins. Finally I die cut the sentiment and white embossed that as well.

Swe scrapbook - teknik/mixed media v. 25

Jag lånade min kompis A:s helt underbara die i helgen och den passade ypperligt att testa till Swe scrapbooks utmaning om att använda blommor. Det fick bli ett CAS-kort eftersom dajsen nästan kräver det.
Eftersom dajsen var för stor för mina vanliga älskade kortbaser så fick jag skära till en egen kortbas av cardstock. Jag hittade på två lila nyanser som jag ville använda, den ena till kortbasen och den andra att stansa ut från. Jag har ett gäng vellumkuvert som är lite för stora för A6-kort men som blev perfekta till det här kortet. Och eftersom jag använde ett vellumkuvert så var det givet att använda en remsa vellum att stämpla en text på. Texten jag hittade på kommer från ett stämpelset av okänt märke (tipsa gärna om du vet vilket!) och som jag tycker passade stilen.
Jag ville ha någon mer detalj och provade med lite utstansade fjärilar bredvid texten men det blev för mycket. Kom på att jag hade en färdigdekorerad charm (3D Crystal Glaze + Glitter Flakes) från ett tidigare projekt och vips så blev det ett bröllopskort! När allt var monterat så såg kortet lite för tamt ut så jag distressade kanterna på kortbasen.

Craft Stamper Take It, Make It Challenge - June

 

 

I'm not sure if this is the inlaid die cutting technique or not but I've seen someting similar on the Internet when using dies with intricate patterns. Instead of removing all of the small pieces you leave them in the paper and then you color chosen parts.

I'm really bad at die cutting and I haven't got the patience to remove all of the itty bitty pieces so I thought this was the technique for me, but no! This was also difficult. I ended up with half of the panel really nice cut and half like I wanted it to be. I decided to have a go anyway and just see where it would end.

I started coloring my die cut panel with watered down Distress Inks before I glued the panel onto a cardbase. I wanted my card to shimmer a bit so I used an apricot mist. It was the wrong color, so I tried to wipe it off straight away and then I misted the card again with a more neutral color.

I really like white embossing on black, I see it everywhere now. I like the contrast it gave to the otherwise soft look. And finally, some sequins! I love sequins!

I'm using a few inks on this card so I'm joining the Craft Stamper June Take It, Make It Challenge where the theme for this month is: Let's Get Inky.

Två utmaningar i en....

Summer fun!

Jag har precis börjat min semester och till min stora lycka så började den med regn! Det känns liksom helt ok att sitta inne och scrappa då! Passande nog hade jag en scrap-vän på besök igår, och det är den här tjejen som tar med sig lite för mycket grejer: A. Sist vi pysslade hos mig så hade hon typ åtta stora kassar med sig.

Till och med katten funderade över all packning! ;-)

Jag tycker synd om A när hon får lägga ned så mycket tid på att ta med sig saker, så jag beslöt mig för att utmana henne. Jag planerade att göra iordning ett kit med material som vi skulle använda både två. På JE Scrap och Hobby hittade jag en rolig utmaning där temat var sommar och när jag vann Pysslotekets vårtävling så fick jag en somrigt, färgglatt kit från dem. Och till det så hittade jag en passande stämpel från Paper Smooches. Och A var på! Kul!

A är så himla duktig med detaljerna. Ska jag göra ett osymmetriskt kort så får jag inte ihop det medan A verkar veta precis var varje detalj ska vara. Lägg även märke till hur färgkoordinerat kortet är. A:s kort är verkligen genomtänkta! Och så var det första gången hon målade med copics!

Jag har precis köpt en Fuse Tool och ville prova den. Visste ganska på en gång att jag ville simulera vatten med micro beads och paljetter i en plastficka. Ville egentligen även ha in ett par stämplade krabbor också men det kom jag på precis när jag hade förslutit fickan så det fick vara den här gången. Det var inte helt lätt att använda fusen, men i och för sig så använde jag inte deras specialprodukter utan vanliga plastfickor. När man rör kortet fram och tillbaka och de små glaskulorna rör sig så låter det precis som havet! Fascinerande!
Jag gillar CAS och ville ha kortet ganska rent utan för mycket dekorationer. Stämplade en val, färglade den med copics och fäste den med fästkuddar så att den ser ut att hoppa i vattnet. Målade på  3D Crystal Glaze så den ser blöt ut.
Dekorerade slutligen lite med paljetter och 3D Crystal Glaze för att få det att se ut som vattenstänk. En liten somrig text och sedan behövde jag rita lite falska stygn men en svart penna för att balansera upp kortet.

Swe scrapbook - färgutmaning v 24

Idag inspirerar jag i Swe scrapbooks färgutmaning med ett kort liknande ett jag sett någonstans på nätet och som inspirerade mig i min tur. Kortet hade ett stämplat motiv i svart och sedan var det färglagt lite här och där med tre olika färger, jag tror det var rosa, orange och gult. Det var väldigt stilistiskt och sparsmakat, här är min tolkning av det. Jag har klippt ut några av hjärtana och fäst på distanskuddar för att få lite dimension på mitt kort.

Swe scrapbook - färgutmaning

Här kommer ett bidrag till Swe scrapbooks färgutmaning.
Jag gillar ju att använda upp saker som jag får över. Av överblivet material från 12 tags of 2016 - March så slängde jag ihop dessa två kort.
När man stansar ut något så kan man ju både använda det utstansade samt det man stansar ut ifrån. I 12 tags of 2016 använde jag det jag stansade ut en kanin i och här använder jag kaninen. Jag använde också en utstansad doily, här använder jag det jag stansade ut den ifrån. Det är perfekt! Man ska verkligen inte slänga något! (och det är också förklaringen till att mitt pysselrum svämmar över! ;-) )
