Gummiapan - Challenge #5

Skål ta me fan!

I was thrilled last Friday when the goodie bag I won from challenge #1 at Gummiapan finally arrived. I thought it had been lost in the mail and it really made my day.! The new challenge is 'Something to eat/drink' and some stamps in the goodie bag fitted perfect for that theme! Lucky me!

So, I wanted to use the stamp of the glass and the sentiment 'SKÅÅÅL!' ('cheers!'). I decided to make a background with the sentiment since it was kind of small. I stamped the glass in black and masked it. Then I stamped the sentiment in different distress ink colors. I mounted this card on another piece of card which I embossed with dots. I was thinking that the dots could symbolize bubbles. I tied some baker's twine on the card and attached another sentiment made with my dymo. That sentiment says 'skål ta me fan' (cheers damn it') and I think it makes a few Swedes smile! In the '80 there was a show on tv called Jacob's Ladder and the host ended all shows with uncorking a bottle of champagne and said 'Skål ta me fan!'. Those were the days!

Gummiapan - challenge #4

What's up?

This card is made for challenge #4 over at Gummiapan. The challenge was to make something for a boy/man. I started on this background a while ago and just didn't know what to do with it. I bought some die cut clouds when I was in Denmark this summer and came to think about them.

A blog Named Hero

A Blog Named Hero has a photo challenge this month. I was inspired by the rainbow colors and started playing around trying to make a rainbow. When I was looking for inks to use I found this rainbow ink pad that was popular many, many years ago in the bottom of my drawer. So I decided to make something with that as well. I haven't used that one for AGES!! I ended up with two different cards and since I used almost only stamping on both I'm entering Virginia's View Challenge #16 with both as well.

The background is made with a chevron stamp. I used the colors yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue and green. For each row I overlapped half of the previous stamped chevron pattern. By doing this I got a nice graduated pattern.

I die-cutted the word 'thanks' directly in the background and like five more from scrap pieces of paper. I glued them all together and the piece from the background on top to get the sentiment raised from the background. Finally I added some 3D glaze on it. 

My StazOn ink pad is a bit tricky to stamp with, I think I have a poor copy. I don't get enough ink on my stamp and have to press really, really hard. This time I stamped so hard so the paper tore and I got a piece left on the stamp. So I had to add some more decorations, hence the eyelets!

Gummiapan - utmaning #2

Gummiapans utmaning #2 har temat Randigt. Jag har ju inte så många Gummiapanstämplar (än!) så jag fick använda de jag hade. Faktiskt så är alla tre med på kortet! Det randiga i mitt kort är först molnkanterna som är stansade med Lawn Fawns die och sedan även en spillbit från en annan utmaning som får föreställa en regnbåge.

Molnen är stämplade med Memories Soft Stone och sedan utklippta. De blev lite bleka på kortet så för att få dem att synas bättre så färgade jag in kanterna med PanPastels Turqoise. Likaså med hela bakgrunden innan jag limmade fast den på själva kortet. Molnen och fåglarna är fästa med distanskuddar.

Gummiapan - utmaning #1

The sky is the limit

Gummiapan är nog ett av mina svenska favoritstämpelföretag. Jag har länge gillat deras Clean And Simple-stil och blev jätteglad när jag hittade den här utmaningen. Jag letade genast reda på alla mina TRE (!) gummiapanstämplar och satte mig vid mitt skrivbord.

Utmaningen består i att skapa något med Gummiapans produkter under temat 'sommar'. Sommar för mig är en blå himmel och fågelsång.

Jag färgade in ett papper med tre olika blåa färger för att skapa en himmel. Stämplade moln och en fågel och embossade med vitt embossingpulver. Stämplade och embossade texten på vellum och sydde fast allt på kortet.
Jag ville egentligen lägga till något mer bredvid texten, men det tog fokus från det stämplade motivet så jag lät bli. Kände att kortet fick vara klart så, men att den embossade texten var lite solkig. Hittade en papperstuss i soporna och skulle bara gnugga bort det men såg till min fasa att den hade färgat av sig på kortet! Nu i efterhand så blev det ju precis det lilla extra som kortet behövde!
