You are My Star! |
I found an interesting sketch challenge at Scrap Africa and decided to have a go. I saw the grey pattern, the chevron, the film strip and the "photos" in the sketch. I knew I had grey cards and grey envelopes so I wanted to create something in different shades of grey with a splash of color. It was also fun to make the fake polaroid photos I made a while ago so I wanted to make some more. I really liked how the cards turned out with all the layers!
The sketch |
I started by stamping different patterns in the background with different greyish inks. I embossed the chevron stamp with my absolute favourite embossing powder of them all - Suze Weinbergs UTEE: platinum. I love the effekt it gives! Then I added a diecutted chevron (I actually think it's a photo corner but when you put them in a row it looks like a chevron pattern) and a diecutted star. When I added the star I came to think of the glow-in-the-dark stars that were popular to put in the ceiling of children's rooms a while ago. So I just had to get some! I really love that pale green color! And I thought it would look good together with the green in my fake polaroid photo. Finally, I added a film strip, a text made with my dymo and some staplers.
I just love this little bird! |

ReplyDeleteThank you, Tsaima!
DeleteI think it took me almost a week to finish the card! It has a lot of thoughts behind it. If you look close you can see that one of the patterned papers has triangles (like the theme "arrows") and the other is a map of the starry sky referring to the sentiment and the die-cutted star. But glueing it all together only took 5 minutes!
